In this section of the site we will take you on a walk-through the world of Jonas Mekas and show you how a series of happy accidents (although they may not always have seemed as such at the time!) in his life influenced his personalised style of filmmaking, from his early life in Lithuania to his present work with video and the film scene in New York, where he is still very active to this day, over 60 years since first arriving there!
